A wonderful service and march! With a major thanks to the wonderful Elaine at the helm, who we sadly lost in 2021.

At a time where Pride events across the world had to close due to lockdowns, we came together online to worship, celebrate and value who our LGBTQIA+ family are.

Not only was it the second year that no Pride took place in Bristol, it was also the year we lost one of our founders, Elaine Sommers. As well a being a founding member of Christians at Bristol Pride she also was Co-Chair of Accepting Evangelicals. She had also been Co-President of the European Forum of LGBT Groups among the many projects she offered her time and encouragement to. Elaine was even included on the Pink List 2020 for ‘The 36 most influential LGBT+ people in Bristol right now’. She is remembered throughout our community for her many contributions including a her own queer inclusive version of Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah, a permanent legacy to the LGBT Christian family. We will always be grateful for what you have done for us Elaine, and we will never forget your heart. God bless.

We can instantly recall the joyous celebrations as Bristol Pride came back to the streets for the first time since 2019! While we suffered such sad loss the year prior, volunteers from across Christian’s at Bristol Pride came together to ensure the group continued to worship and march together that year as a community.
